The BMW 240i arrived at our facility already carrying modifications — not a factory-fresh car, but one that had already been worked on before we touched it. That detail matters, because it makes the Stage 1 chip tuning results you see here even more meaningful: these are gains extracted on top of an already-modified baseline, not low-hanging factory fruit.
The Numbers
Both runs were recorded on our certified VT Dyno 6.4 dynamometer. The red curve is the pre-Remapas baseline (not stock): 368.4 BHP @ 6111 RPM and 528.0 Nm @ 2495 RPM. The blue curve is after our Stage 1 remapping: 411.9 BHP @ 6115 RPM and 562.9 Nm @ 2549 RPM — a gain of +43.5 HP (+11.8%) and +34.9 Nm (+6.6%). Beyond the peak numbers, notice how much wider and flatter the blue torque curve is across the mid-range — that is the difference between dyno figures and real-world driveability, and it is where performance chip tuning truly makes itself felt on the road.
How It Was Done
Working on a car that is already modified adds complexity. The ECU calibration has to account for whatever changes were already made — the stock map is no longer a reference point, and any chip car tuning has to be built around the actual measured state of the engine, not assumptions. That means a baseline dyno run first, a thorough review of the existing setup, and only then writing the new tuning files from scratch.
No off-the-shelf race chip solution, no recycled racechip tune from a shared database. This 240i's ECU was read, analysed, and rewritten with a custom map that works with the existing modifications rather than against them. Our chip and tune approach means the engine chip calibration is matched to the real state of the car — its actual fuelling, boost behaviour, and power delivery — not a theoretical stock baseline.
Stage 1 tuning chip for car on a turbocharged BMW inline-six is one of the most rewarding modifications available. The B-series engine responds extremely well to ECU work, and as the dyno graph shows, the gains are spread evenly across the rev range — not just a spike at peak power. The chip car result is a stronger, more responsive engine that makes the car feel fundamentally different to drive, without any mechanical modifications required.
